Care Ambassadors

Care Ambassadors are passionate social care employees (nominated by their employers) or people who use services and carers, who are trained to promote social care careers to young people and other groups in the community. Through interactive presentations and workshops they use their skills, experience and enthusiasm to encourage more people to consider training or working in social care.

This scheme is both a national and local initiative and has been running in various parts of the country since 2003. It promotes a positive image of the social care sector and provides employers with a recruitment and retention strategy, Care Ambassadors with continual professional development and teachers with work related support.
